Is Yeshua Elohim?

Torah´s Law

To Messianic Jews and to the mayority of Christians Yeshua is more than a prophet and jewish teacher, He is the Son of Elohim , Messiah and the revelation in the flesh of Elohim . He show us what Elohim really is like:

Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Yeshua saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?(John 14:8-9)

Jews of the time of Yeshua rejected Him as an incarnation of the Divine (consider a blasphemy), not as the Messiah that was to come, and still do.( That does not make the Jewish people bad at all, nor should they be hate by their stand, Yeshua was a jew and He came to save both them and us, we should always remember that) These two ideas: being Elohim and the Messiah seem to put Him in eternal opposition to Judaism, but it is not so

Yeshua admited He was of the same essence of Elohim

But in the Torah (scriptures) is very clear that Yeshua is of the same divinity as Elohim
Yeshua even admited in John 10:30:"I and the Father are one."

Paul said it well: For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (Col 2:9).

Even Yeshua affirmed it Himself in Matthew 12:8: "For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day." (Only Elohim was the Lord of the Sabbath) and also in Matthew 22:42-45:

Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

Christ also regard himself as Mashiach:

Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Yeshua answered and said unto them, Go and show John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. (Mathew 11:2-6).

With this words Yeshua was telling John the Baptist to remember Isa 35:4-5: Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

Also Yeshua affirms the same in his reply to Peter:

When Yeshua came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living Elohim . And Yeshua answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.> ( Mathew 16:13-17)

Christ in Greek means Messiah. And because of this admision the Jews threatened to stone Him. Isaiah wrote that the Messiah would be Elohim in Isaiah 9:6.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty Elohim , The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

Titus 2:13 tell us that He is both Elohim and our Savior.
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great Elohim and our Saviour Yeshua (Titus 2:13).

Even Thomas said clearly :And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my Elohim(John 20:28)

Remember: we always have to differenciate between Elohim, Yeshua and The Holy Spirit.

But even Yeshua and his disciples made a very market effort of diferienciating between Him and Elohim:

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. (Matthew 19:16-17)

Yeshua saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my Elohim, and your Elohim.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true Elohim, and Yeshua Ha Mashiach, whom thou hast sent. (John 17:3).

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like asMashiach was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. ( Rom 6:4)

But Yeshuas divinity is even more clearly in Isaiah 35:4-5:

Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

But is Yeshua = Elohim, He is not and He never said so, anywhere in scripture. As Paul said it well: For in Him (Yeshua) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (Col 2:9).

Daily Torah - Bible Verses

How do we apply scripture to real life as Messianic Jews - Nazarene?

Our sole purpose in life is to love and glorify Elohim, read the Torah everyday and follow all it's commandments through the Hebrew roots of our faith

We comply with what our Lord Yeshua said in Matthew 28:20 "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" and only then you could be "persuaded in your own mind."

Therefore, "Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect of an holiday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days" (Col 2:16)

In these pages you will find how you and us as Messianic Jews- Nazarene following the whole Torah applying it to real life and live a successful and meaningful existence as observants of Torah, answering all our questions through it and through Yeshua the Messiah.

Why we use Hebrew names here

Messianic Jews - Nazarene love Elohim and use the original names of the Tanakh - Hebrew Bible in their daily prayers and in their congregations. The words "Jesus" and "Jehova" are not the original names that appear in the Tanakh - Hebrew Bible or the Greek New Testament. They are transliterations that all have use for so many centuries that almost become true. The real names are Yeshua and Elohim. Read More
