Yeshua ordained to tithe

Everyone who is against given tithing said that it was a Law of the Old Testament, no apply to christians today. Well that's what they said, not the Scriptures.

Laws of the Old Testament (Tanack) that talked about the tithe are:

(Lev 27:30) And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's: it is holy to the LORD.

(Num 18:21,26) And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.(26) Thus speak to the Levites, and say to them, When you take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.(The Levites themselves have to give tithes of what was given to them)

(Deu 14:22,24-26) You shall truly tithe all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year. (24) And if the way be too long for you (far away from the Temple), so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from you, which the LORD your God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD your God has blessed you: (25) Then shall you turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and shall go to the place which the LORD your God shall choose:(26) And you shall bestow that money for whatever your soul lusts after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever your soul desires: and you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you, and your household,

Reason to give Tithe in the Tanack

(2 Ch 31:4) Moreover he commanded the people that dwelled in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might be encouraged in the law of the LORD. (That was the reason for the tithe, so they can only service Elohim)

Blessing upon you if you tithe

(Mal 3:10) Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and prove me now herewith, said the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Some pastors and church leaders say that now we are only to give what we want, the tithe was abolished, and now we should give what Elohim puts in our hearts, "for God loves a cheerful giver". Also they say that the collection should be taken on Sunday (1 Co 16:2), only that the collection mentioned in the bible quote was for helping people in Jerusalem because of a natural disaster, so Paul was advising them to put something on the side for that.

(2 Co 9:7) Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for Elohim loves a cheerful giver.

(1 Co 16:1-3) Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do you. On the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God has prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. And when I come, whomsoever you shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality to Jerusalem.

All that is false according to the Scriptures. The reality is that the tithe was never abolished, nor the Law of Moses. The first Christians (Messianic Jews) they brought everything they had to the apostles, some even sold everything. Are we willing to do the same today? Are we willing to follow their example?

(Act 2:44-45) And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

What does the New Testament says about the tithe? What does Paul has to say in this subject?

(1 Co 9:4-6,7) Have we not power to eat and to drink? (5) Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (6) Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? (7) Who goes a warfare any time at his own charges? who plants a vineyard, and eats not of the fruit thereof? or who feeds a flock, and eats not of the milk of the flock?(Paul is asking here if he as an apostle can live as ministry of the Lord full-time).

(1 Co 9:11-12) If we have sown to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? (12) If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.(Paul is showing clearly here that if he preaches the Gospel (spiritual things) he shall be reward with food, shelter and the necesities of life (carnal things), but he renounced his right, rather than hinder his success by claiming it. It's his option).

What does Yeshua, the Head of the Church, ordained about the tithe?

(1 Co 9:13-14) Do you not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? (the application of the Law) and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? (14) Even so has the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

As you can see in these verses Yeshua "ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel" (have a full-time minister occupation)

How does Paul said we are going to pay for these priest' salaries?

(1 Co 9:13) Do you not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? (the application of the Law of Tithe in this age) and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?

So, let's do what Yeshua want us to do (tithe), not what man says we should do (no tithe).

Daily Torah - Bible Verses

How do we apply scripture to real life as Messianic Jews - Nazarene?

Our sole purpose in life is to love and glorify Elohim, read the Torah everyday and follow all it's commandments through the Hebrew roots of our faith

We comply with what our Lord Yeshua said in Matthew 28:20 "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" and only then you could be "persuaded in your own mind."

Therefore, "Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect of an holiday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days" (Col 2:16)

In these pages you will find how you and us as Messianic Jews- Nazarene following the whole Torah applying it to real life and live a successful and meaningful existence as observants of Torah, answering all our questions through it and through Yeshua the Messiah.

Why we use Hebrew names here

Messianic Jews - Nazarene love Elohim and use the original names of the Tanakh - Hebrew Bible in their daily prayers and in their congregations. The words "Jesus" and "Jehova" are not the original names that appear in the Tanakh - Hebrew Bible or the Greek New Testament. They are transliterations that all have use for so many centuries that almost become true. The real names are Yeshua and Elohim. Read More
